Derby assistance

Really, I would like some more ideas on how to create a faster pinewood derby car.

no link to the offender?

Just caught that reference. Wow. Do you think she wants to be an OB/GYN?

Thanks for coming back online.

Do you think she'll ever hook up with Laura?

If she calls that girl Beaver, I would be interested to see Laura's nickname.

When in THE HELL is Ryan going to post something. We need documentation of his life for our posterity.

I love that last line of her post, made me laugh for quite a while. But really, I want some help with this pinewood derby car. I would rather not have to use a remote but with the starting gate down it could be on and pushing until the gate is lifted.

small electric motors-from small fans-they would have to be the same type on each wheel so they would spin equally and they would have to spin at a higher rpm than the wheel reaches naturally descending the ramp but other than that I really think the key is in hair dryers. How you get 120 volts to them I dunno...

Are we looking at a possible propane powered system here?

nothing flammable, it has to be under one pound. Other than that, anything goes.

Hair dryer? A couple of 9 volt batteries hooked up to the motors would probably run out of juice too quick???

two 9 volts would work but they wouldnt deliver the speed to the fan that 110 from the wall could deliver so your rpms would be way down. We would have to find a powerful electric motor with good speed that runs 9V, good luck with that. You could just hook it to Drocks nipples.

Drock? I never thought of that. I wonder what his amperage is these days.

I'm not sure about exact numbers but he keeps my motor running.
